How can I get a glass rear window to replace the broken one on a 1985 volkswagen convertible car?

My back window got shattered by a BB gun and now I need a replacement window so I can fix it. It is a 1985 volkswagen cabriolet convertible, 2 door, 4 speed. I would prefer to get one from a junk yard or atleast really cheep if I could. Thanks for any help I can get, Dennis

1. does the rear window have a zipper all the way around it if it does get one from the junk yard if not any glass co or a conv. top co to replace it


2. your best bet is to go to an auto upholstery shop that does convertable tops. if your window zippers in it is not difficult to replace but if it is a bonded unit the entire rear half of the top will have to be removed to replace the rear panel ( also called rear curtain).
