What BTU furnace is needed for a 1800sq.ft.house? It is on a crawl space.?
Downflow and will have a 3ton a/c and is a brick home. I have r13 in the walls and over r30 in the attic. I also have double pane replacement windows all thru the house. I live in KY so the weather varies alot. Usually never below 0 degrees in the winter.

- You would want at least 50,000 BTU, Hope this will answer your question. I had an 1800 sq. ft. home once so I know. It costed me $5,000.00 installed with A/C and ducts.
- well that realy depends on how much you want to invest you seem to have it insalated well at least for my regin but i dot know your climate i suguest you find out what your neibor has or some one with a simlar house i also suggest that you get the one you can most afford take into account efficency BTU stands for butane thermal units so it realy depends on the climate your in if your in Canada you will require more BTUs than if in Mexico. at any rate get one that has a good warentee and a brand name as these are more dependable, you wont save money on poor quality if you buy two cheep ones you will have spent more money shop around and the HAVAC guys can make some recemdations too but get at least three bids and see what the differenc in price is for the same BTUs,PS:ask if you can get a discount and you can get a better deal at the end of the month if they are trying to meet a quota
