\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM is corrupt, how do I fix without cd?

I know that I need to use the original install cd, but I have lost it and can't find another one (eg, someone elses from their pc). Is there any way of fixing it without the cd, or is there any way of getting hold of a replacement cd?

  1. Windows update. If you have a Dell... click on repair in support center.
