Average cost of replacement windows for home?? per window?

we cannot afford right know to do the whole house so i was thinking of just starting with our kitchen. whats an average cost per window with installation? i'm not sure what size is average but my kitchen has three windows, also i measured on the inside of frame which i hope is correct. the kitchen measurements are 35x44 27x52 and 22x35. anybody know how much i should look at spending??

  1. Take your dimensions to Home Depot and you'll see each and every window you need..cause it could cost $80 to $350 or so a window..intallation extra..

  2. Since there's no way to ballpark this, there's so many different kinds of windows, styles and brands out there.

    My only advice would be to save some money and invest in good windows. Windows are too important energy-wise to a home to skimp.

    If I were to put new windows in my house I would only consider Pella or Andersen windows.


  3. There is a huge variety in cost. If you want just basic windows, you could be looking at about $250 to $300 per window. Do you know anyone that can install them for you at a discount or at a reasonable rate or can you do it yourself?

    I would definitely start shopping around for windows. Don't go to the people that will come to your house. It's a big time rip off. The best time to buy is when they have a sale that seems to be in the spring, in the New England area anyway.
