Replacement home windows?

Are Pella replacement windows good windows and are they east to install. All I ever see is white and dose this stand out to bad with darker trim.

1. Pella is a very reputable company and should have several colors to choose from. Time frame may play a factor for other colors, but quality is there.


2. Pella is a good company. Most of them are these days, although someone might have horror stories about particular companies. I think it has more to do with the skill of the installer than the window itself. Also, they're putting out vinyl windows in more colors these days (white, almond, brown, even wood grain).

   And one other thing about color - you can always put wood trim up over the vinyl edges and paint it whatever color you want. I had a beige house with kind of a seafoam green trim. When I had the white vinyl windows installed, I then made up window frames out of 1x4 and painted them the seafoam green to go with the trim. It came out looking pretty nice.



3. it depends on the grade of window you are looking at. pella has many grades of windows. their entry level product is made for a price point. quality is low, but price is low because of the quality. their medium quality product is medium priced and their high quality price is expensive.

   it all depends on that what you are looking for a replacement window to do, and how much you want to pay.

   as for the ease to install, it all depends on your abilities , what kind of old windows you have and how your old windows are installed. could be really easy, or a real pain.

   another thing to keep in mind, pella and others are only the manufacturer. the only warranty that will come with your window is the pella manufacturers warranty. most warranty issues will usually not be covered due to improper installation.(even if it was installed correctly).
