Where can I get cheap energy efficient replacement windows?

I need to replace old energy sucking windows in odd sizes.

1. Do you want cheap or do you want energy efficient? Maybe I don't understand what you call cheap, but to me you don't want a good window or at least not one that is energy efficient.


2. Either cheap or energy efficient, can't really have both.

   Also, odd sizes make the price go up.

   Your best bet is to start calling replacement window companies in your area and ask them to come and give you a quote. Some examples are: Pella and Renewal by Andersen.

   Get windows with a good warranty. If you can't afford to do them all do 2 walls and replace more with the same brand when you can afford more.

   You can also go to a "home improvement" expo in your area because the dealers are there and usually have some sort of sale going on in conjunction with the expo.



3. Go to your local lumber yard and see if they have a bargain basement or warehouse,they sometimes carry out of stock items or items that someone ordered and never picked up.They price them cheaper to get rid of them.
