  1. Keep in mind that there is a difference between "replacement windows" and replacing windows.

REPLACEMENT windows are usually custom ordered to fit inside the jambs and sill of you existing windows. No interior wall or siding carpentry needed.

New Marvin windows can be expensive because they are WHOLE windows. Often stainable wood interiors with vinyl cladding on the out side and can range between $350 and $700 per window depending on the size.

If you requested this type of window, then he is a little high but not too bad, but wait until you see the labor charge for replacing whole windows!

If you just need replacement windows, ( white vinyl inside and out, then you can get them for half the material cost and half of the labor cost.

  2. he's robbing ya.......

    28 x 60 = 2'4" x 5'0" window unit.......= $200.00 ea.

    40 x 60 = 3'4" x 5'0" window unit.......= $ 250.00 ea ( odd size)

    36 x 59 = 3'0" x 59" window unit........= $ 225.00 ea. ( odd size)

r these wood or vinyl...i am assuming because of the sizes that they r vinyl.....if wood add $50.00 per unit stated above...to install would run u about $ 150.00 per unit to remove old and install new .......

tip: tell him u will buy the windows and he can just supply the labor and watch him back up!

  3. actually I thought the prices were cheap...I installed all my own windows myself and it cost me over $3500 maybe even more adding insualting materials and all.and my biggest windows were 36 x 54 inch...but i installed andersen double pane double hung... not sure what type of windows besides the name your asking about..and i shopped around and ended up buying from Home depot

  4. I had Certainteed Argonne Gas Filled windows installed in my house for an average of $400/window. Had 9 windows replaced. I live in the Midwest, and I don't know how that compares with elsewhere!

  5. I have a house with 12 windows, one fairly large picture window in the living room. The others are about 2 feet by 3 feet, or about typical "window" size except for two bathroom windows which are pretty small.

In SE michigan I am having vinyl wallside windows installed for $3850 for all of them.

Of course these aren't as well built as your marivn windows, but they should be good for our extreme weather
