How to get my vinyl replacement windows, installed 15 years ago, to stop sticking when opening or closing?

  1. get a can of spray silicone or pledge furniture polish and spray the sides and the windows will run up and down no problem

  2. rub the sliding portions with a bar of soap. It will last longer than liquid friction reducers. repeat as nessasary.

  3. Make sure the window is even all the way up and down. There are usually 4 screws in the side that hold the window in place. Make sure these haven't come out a little or the window will hang up on them. Clean and polish the slides, also remove the window sashes and clean those too. Check the sashes for straightness. Some older vinyl windows were not too good.
