How do I go about fixing broken windowpanes on vinyle windows?
I was installing a new Milgard window and accidentally broke one of the panes. I need to pry off the plastic coverings, measure the window and order a replacement double pane at a glass supplier. Is this a do it yourself project?

- order and re-istall the entire sash.
- I work for a window company. What I would do Is order the glass from milgard. To reglase the glass you have to pry off the plastic coverings. Then razor knife the glass from out side because the glass is attached to the window with double sided sticky tape. Have a person hold the glass from inside because it could fall. once u have the glass out scrape the remains of the sticky tape with a putty knife. the glass have spacers that need to be putt back where they were. put double sided sticky tape around the perimeter of the glass to be replaced but put it on the window not on the glass. then replace the new glass making sure is centered. put back the coverings and you are done. Ask Millard if they could send you the double sided sticky tape they call it Glassing tape.
have fun.
