how do you install a vinyl window what material is used is it called flashing if so I have some.?

Ok my window is a vertical open closed vinyl window I purchased a replacement horizontal open close exact same manufacture and size just opens and closes different so I want to swap them out but want to do it the right way.

1. remove trim from out side look for nails in window casein cut them

   window will come out from out side, new one will go in form out side shim it to level nail in place, replace trim,

   or get some one who knows how to do it,
