New replacement window regulator with motor for my 02 ford explorer xlt issues?

I bought a replacement window regulator with motor for my 02 ford explorer xlt. I connected everything the window rolls down every slow and barley can back roll up without me pulling on the window. I see that the metal piece that bolts to window will also hit the motor if i roll down window all the way and hit the motor on the roll back up. The part is for the make and model of my SUV. Help!!!
