Who has the best replacement windows?

I need double hung replacement windows? Low E, double pane, triple pane, aluminum, vinyl? Thanks!

  2. Andersen and Pella probably have the best windows that I know of.

  3. We used Certainteed a few years ago. It was highly rated in Consumers' Report and has performed as advertised. We have double hung with tilt-in top and bottom sash. The reduction in heating and cooling in our south facing home has been significant. They are double glazed, Argon gas filled vinyl windows. You will be amazed at the noise reduction they provide. I paid about $440 each installed. Stay away from metal frames in cold weather they transmit cold and in warm/hot weather they may produce condensation on the frames.

  4. Low E, Vinyl, definately double pane atleast. There are too many replacment windows on the market but Id stay away from the big names like pella or anderson theyre no better than any other window and you end up paying extra for the name. The Certinteed are fine, but if you have really old single pane wood windows, then ANYTHING is better.
