Window (Not Comp. as in to look outside) Repair?

I have a window in my house (not windows as in comp) that the turner wont catch so the window wont close-what do i need to do to repair this? do i need a repairman to come or can i just order a replacement part? Please help!!!

1. A window with a handle that when you turn the handle it opens window? if so the handle itself is probably stripped...to remove the handle there may be a small screw in the side of it....an alan key may be needed to loosen screw a little bit then remove handle and go to lowes or home depot for a replacement
