Which replacement vinyl windows are better?

I am looking a two different vinyl windows to replace my old windows. Which is a better choice? Atrium Aspirations Collection or Amerimax Craftsman Portrait Series

  1. If you're set on choosing from only these two my choice would be the Amerimax. But let me tell you something about vinyl windows. They are all pretty much the same, though everyone wants to say they're the best or they have better construction, more features etc. - etc. Look, a vinyl window is pretty much a vinyl window; the differences are as relevant as what a Yukon is compared to a Escalade. The most important issues when choosing a window is aesthetics, design, and energy efficiency. Aesthetically and in design they are all pretty much the same from one manufacturer to the other; as far as energy efficiency goes, the insulative qualities and Low-E ratings are the same across the board, though some utility companies will give you a credit for choosing the energy star products, and that may be a consideration that you should check into. Just don't get caught up in the window replacement game. If you want to get the biggest bang for your buck, buy your windows directly from the manufacturer or from a home center, then shop out the installation to the best and most competent bidder.

I hate the window shams and scams I here about and just want to save you from being taken by one of them. I've been doing this for more than 30 years, so if you want to review who I am, and like me to help you, I'll tell you what you should pay for the windows and their installations, regardless of manufacturer. You'll then have the knowledge to cost effectively negotiate this project. If this is a whole house change out I can most likely get you a wholesale price and not only a good install but one that'll save you money.

What will I need? No money. . . just some pictures of the house, particulars on what’s existing, your choice of windows, and where you want them shipped. Once I have this I'll put the package together and pass you the ball. Why would I be willing to do this? Like I said, I hate to hear the horror stories and/or price gouging that's so prevalent in this market. If you'd like my further help and advice don't hesitate to ask. I'm easily reached here or through my website, which a link is located below in my signature block.
