- Won't work right
- contact hp for a set of discs do not put the dell disc in your hp but do try tapping f10 as your pc starts to see if you have a restore partition
- IDK, but seems to me, Windows is Windows no matter what the OS is. But, just to be sure, call Best Buy or somewhere and ask them, but I'd say go for it. unless one has Vista, then it won't work. Cuz that would be downgrading and you can't do that.
Ps. I persoanlly HATE vista, ughhh)
- Yes you can. Dell supply windows xp restore cd's with dell pc's BUT THEY NEVER PUT THE DELL DRIVERS ONTO THE DELL XP DISK! So really it is a normal xp disk. And if you want the drivers, go to the HP website.
- Depending on the age of your HP the restore disks may be on your machine already. New HPs (last 4 or so years) puts the restore partition on drive D. You can't usually save anything there. Look in your start menu under HP Tools or something like that and you should see an option about "Make restore disks." HP stopped sending hard copies some time ago. It usually will take 4-5 CDs to get the restore media built. If the machine is aleady dead then that is a problem. Many times a Dell restore disk will look at some hidden attributes within the machine and may fail since it's not a Dell. Good luck
- call hp and tell them that you put your recovery cd in your pc driver and it wont do anything and your computer freezes if you have warranty they will send you a set if you dont they can sell you a set for $40
- No, you'll have problems.
- if u use the original window, then u can restore it from BIOS,at the start up..i forgot the button,fs something.of course it didn't work well or didn't work at all if u're using dell driver on ur hp laptop..because,driver dont involve so much with operating system..the solution is,u try to restore it from u're BIOS (if u use original windows) or u have to look at the HP website.put your laptop model or series in that website..try this..www.hp.com or www.compaq.com..in that website, they provide the driver..
