where do i get a replacement window for a single layer glass sliding window? all the sliding glass windows at Home Depot are double layer glass now. I lost one of my sliding window panels from my kitchen window. i am looking for a replacement. i dont want to replace the whole window, i just want the missing sliding panel to put into the existing window. its not just the glass. i want the missing panel, with the frame. there are 2 sliding panels on each side, and a fixed panel in the middle. One of the panels is missing. not just the glass is missing or broken.

Where do I buy a replacement glass for my Tahoe window? I have a 1999 Tahoe. My father-in-law decided to mow our grass the other day and his lawn mower flung a rock through the back glass of my Tahoe, shattering it completely. It is the passenger side behind the driver's seat. Where can I find a cheap replacement for it so that I don't have to turn it in to my insurance? How do i remove glass from window for replacement? I have what I think is aluminum windows. looking at the window it has 2 sections, the top half and bottom half, bottom half being the part you slide to open. each half has six sections, pieces of glass divided by strips. I need to replace one piece and cannot figure how to remove the damaged one. I have gone over all the edges with a "blade" to remove any seal but it still doesn't budge. There are pieces on the exterior side that appear to "frame" the glass and possibly hold it in place, it doesn't look like any form of putty, it looks like plastic. I need to find out what that is and If i need to remove it and should i be able to reuse it.
window replacement glass or plexi-glass? moved into home,one window has air conditioner built into it. above is a 14"x35" opening for light. till i removed it [plexi-glass] was there. had paper ,un-removable on it , had to go. do i put in plate glass, or can i use new sheet plexi-glass this is easier to cut to size. live in buffalo n.y. harsh winters. this area could winter time be covered with 3m plastic. question is - is plexi-glass ok?
Apartment agent charged me $150 for replacement terrace door window glass without notifying me beforehand.? REside in NYS rent stabilized one bedroom unit. When i requested the terrace door window repair, the Agent did not tell me that i would incur a cost for the window replacement. My "Replacement Apartment Lease" states "..Tenant must , at Tenant's cost, make all replairs and replacements whenever the need results from Tenant's act or neglect. Owner's reasonable expense will be added to the rent." I did not cause the window crack, therefore i should not have to pay the exorbitant $150 for the window replacement. What proof does the Agent have to provide to me, the tenant, that the damage was caused by me? Can i request the window glass bill to determine if the $150 is a reasonable expense? Are rent stabilized tenants liable for all repair costs, if the Agent does not provide proper notification about repair charges?
Fitting Glass in replacement wooden windows. Just bought a Magnet Window but beading is confusing.? There were some plastic spacers supplied with the beading.The bottom beading is meant to overhang the frame but only fits if it sits on the spacers. If this is what I am supposed to do, how do you pin the bottom beading and how do you prevent the space becoming filled with spiders. The side beadings only fit if the bottom beadings sit on the spacers, otherwise they are too short. Thanks

Stained glass window frame replacement? This is a pretty specific question but I am looking for a place in Oklahoma that might replace wooden framed windows that have stained glass. The tricky part is that the home is very old and the windows very large and strangely shaped so that it would definitely need to be a custom shape along with the meticulous effort of removing the stained glass out of the original windows. I know this is specific but the person would need to live in Oklahoma as to avoid excessive cost. Thanks.

Where to find replacement glass for a truck cap/camper top? I have a Century truck cap that came off of a '94 Mazda B4000 pickup. We bought the pickup after it had been vandalized, and all the cap windows but the front were smashed. Century does not sell parts or anything directly to the public, they only go through their dealers; I called my local dealer and they basically hinted that it would cost a LOT to get the replacement glass for the 4 side windows and rear window, plus I'd have to drag the thing down there so they could look at it and get all the info, and pay them BEFORE I receive any parts, AND they might not even be able to get the glass for it because Century recently changed glass companies and the cap is not new. It sounds like a huge hassle to me, so I'd like to look for new glass elsewhere. Any suggestions on where I could find new glass for this? Would junkyard or pull-a-part be a good place to look, or would they be unlikely to have trucks with caps still on? It's not a Leer, why would I call them? Someone told me that glass companies can't cut curves in glass?? That seems ludicrous since most car windows are curved, but I dunno. All the glass is flat, would it be cheaper to go to a non-automotive glass company?

Rear glass window on my GMC Envoy blew up and shattered in my husbands hands!? My husband was opening the rear hatch window on our 2004 GMC Envoy and the window just shattered. It basically blew up if you can understand that. Pieces of the window went everywhere. Pieces were even found in my husbands pocket of his pants somehow!!! Does anyone know what may have caused this? I at first thought maybe it was the cold, but it is not that bad out here. It is cold but 13 degrees or maybe a little less, but no below zeros or anything. Design ideas for new replacement windows? I have large windows in my stairwell that go from bottom of house to top. Consists of 3 slider windows 58X58 placed one on top of the other. They face my neighbors 3 windows. I need to replace. I want to do something different than what is already there. Was thinking about a picture window for the top (kind of silly to have a window that can open when nobody can reach it), a double or triple slider for the middle and a picture on bottom (could reach to open but would need step stool, plus it is ground level so security is issue). Any other ideas? Also, I was thinking about "rain glass" instead of clear since it will cost a ton to have custom verticals made. My concern with this is 2 fold.... even though glass isn't clear neighbors could still see shadows and 2, isn't the point of a picture window to see through it? Any ideas or suggestions? I've looked at a ton of pictures and like so much. I've even considered glass block but its too expensive. I'm in remodel hell!

Is it better to get a replacement window (with frame) or just replace the glass? I have a double pane window that is many years old and very cheap (came with the house, maybe 1/32" panes). I want to change the windows because the noise from outside and nearby train is very easy to hear. The two options I have are: full replacement of the window with new vinyl frames to a double pane window (1/8", 1/8"+laminate+1/32") or just replace the double pane with something better (1/8", 1/8"+laminate+1/32"). The price difference is that the second option is about 25% less than getting it with brand new frames. Also the first option is with LowE3 and a super-spacer. The second option uses LowE2 and aluminum spacer. I am concerned that getting the second option, with just new windows and using my existing frames and panes (which are in decent condition) will not be sealed properly as the complete replacement. Any recommendations?

Glass replacement for tenant? I have dual pane windows in my apartment. I came back home and the outside glass of one of the windows is broken. Thermal cracked window??? The other day, I noticed that the glass in the lower sash of the window in our spare bedroom was cracked. The crack starts at the bottom and runs about half way up. We know that nothing hit into the window and it happened just within the last few days as we would have noticed it before. We moved into this home this past October. It has electric baseboard heat and all of the units are located under the windows. My wife was staying in the spare bedroom recently as she was sick and her coughing was keeping me up at night. She had the chills, so she kept the heat in that room quite high...like 75 degrees! My question is if it is possible that, on a cold night and with the heat on relatively high...that could cause a thermal crackin the window glass. These are replacement windows and have two panes of glass...inner and outer with the decerative grids sandwiched in between. The house is a stick built modular that was built in like 1982. The windows are vinyl and I don't know if they are original or replacements. I don't have the phone number of the prior owner, but I may be able to look him up to ask.

Replacement vinyl? strips which are used in old aluminum windows to hold glass snap/seal (triangular shaped)? These are old aluminum windows with single pane glass held in and "caulked" using a gray colored vinyl/rubber type strip of material which is triangular shaped but has indented crevices so that the material snaps into place sealing the window pane. It is used instead of caulking. I don't know if it is a glazing strips. It is 5/16" by 3/8" by 1/2" and apparently could be cut into any length strips that you need. I have been unable to find it anywhere.
Aftermarket glass rear window for a Z3 ?!? I love my Z3, much more than the new Z4s. I'd like to keep my Z3 for many years to come, my only gripe is the rear plastic window. Anyway I was wandering if anyone has heard of or seen an aftermarket replacement convertible top that has an actual glass rear window. Can a failed window seal be fixed? The glass is fogged between the panes.? If so, how do I find someone who can do this? They are old, double-hung wood windows. Replacement window help!! Better than standard Low-E? We just had a quote down by a company called Hanson's Windows. They claimed to have a superior product called Krypton-Enhanced I-Q Glass. They had a heat lamp & the energy savings was more like 50% instead of standard low-e which was more like 20% savings. Has anyone heard of this?? Any other tips for getting replacement windows?
How can you remove smoke film from a car window? I have tried everything!!? This film is kind of waxy looking and glass cleaners don't remove it. I called a window replacement center and the only alternative I was offered was to have it replaced. I have compared my window to others and mine looks terrible. It's especially worse at night, causes a bad glare. The film appears to be on the interior glass.

How To Find Replacement Storm Window? My bed room window used to have a piece of glass in between the regular window and the screen that could slide up and down. It was there to provide extra insulation. I don't even know what these things are called. Well one day it was up and came down too fast and it broke.
